These 3 Things May Be Keeping You From Your Goals

Most people remain unsuccessful or have alternating experiences with success and failure, simply because they do not know that they have so many negative habits and personal characteristics that ultimately lead to failure. Some of the things you’ve been so used to doing for so many years may be the main reason why you continue to struggle with success. What are those negative traits and how can you overcome them?
Laziness
Laziness is an obvious issue, but none the less one of the negative habits that will definitely keep a man down. The worse thing is, lazy people usually do not want to get rid of the problem. They’re too lazy to even think about the alternative!
If you want to achieve your goals, you need to understand the value of hard work and perseverance. Some of the greatest people in the world are known to work way more than those who did not leave a mark. The great ones work longer hours, sleep less, eat less, wake up earlier and suffer more than anybody else. It takes sacrifice to reach your goals.
The most important thing to know is that everything you have ever wanted is just outside your comfort (laziness) zone. Start by setting one daily goal. Write it down, including a plan for how and when you are going to accomplish it. Acknowledge your victory.
After a few days, make a bigger goal (like wanting to write the first chapter of your book) and set an ideal deadline to accomplish it. Then set weekly and daily goals to help you work towards that larger goal.
Fear
Another biggie is fear. Unfortunately, most people fear things and events without even trying them. Some people are even afraid of success subconsciously in a way that they refute any opportunity that can make them great. Some people subconsciously fear that they won’t be to handle the bigger responsibilities that achieved goals come with, because once you reach a certain goal, it can mean that the bar has just been raised for you to achieve more.
The best way that I’ve found to conquer fear is action. Simply set a simple goal and accomplish it. It’s that simple. With each new goal that you complete, your confidence will go up and your fears will diminish.
Negative Thinking
Pessimism is a trait of failures. Failures always find a reason to fail, even if the situation or opportunity is already presenting itself. In most cases, negative thinking is simply fear in disguise. If you start your day negatively, everything else will seem bad, so you will focus on the little things that do not matter and let them bother you, instead of keeping your mind open to new opportuninites.
It’s near impossible to set and achieve goals without first acknowledging the abundance that exists in your life. Change your negative thinking by being grateful and for what you already have: time, ideas, supports, talents, resources, family, opportuniy, etc.
Find Your Strengths
Write a list down indicating all your weaknesses and bad traits. Next, write the opposite trait for each. The opposite traits are now your new characteristics to be adopted. Start practicing one good trait per day or week, then add another one when you are ready. Over time, you will realize that success follows you because of your positive aura.
Be The Change
The first step to changing bad habits is to look at yourself as a confident, capable and strong individual. Be grateful for the talents you have been given and the endless resources all around you. And remember, you are responsible for whatever happens in your life. Although problems are bound to happen, how you react to them will determine your ability to achieve success. Minor setbacks are supposed to be a means for you to become better and stronger.
